September 2017 AEE/BCA Joint Meeting - PV Incentives & Commissioning

Join us for the first meeting of the 2017-18 season on September 6th! Learn about the next generation of solar incentives and the best practices for properly commissioning photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Next Generation of Solar Incentives

Greg Hall will present an overview of the next generation of solar incentives in Massachusetts. As the SREC-II program sunsets, the Commonwealth beckons in the SMART Program, a tariff-based structure set to begin in the spring of 2018. How will it affect investment, project diversity, and commissioning? Greg will breakdown the program’s aims and their potential consequences.

Best Practices for Commissioning Photovoltaic Systems

Chris Houtz will present best practices for commissioning PV systems as well as common installation and code violation issues identified during thousands of Cadmus’ PV system installation inspections for statewide incentive programs throughout the northeast.

About the Speakers

Greg Hall

As a senior policy analyst with Cadmus, Greg Hall has worked at the forefront of solar program design and administration. As a leading resource on solar incentive policy in the northeast, Mr. Hall works with renewable energy stakeholders on solving complex programmatic and economic challenges associated with the rapid growth of distributed renewable energy. With a keen eye towards the growing overlap between state policy and emerging clean energy technology, his passion lies in a pragmatic approach to a brighter, and cleaner, energy future.

Chris Houtz

Chris Houtz, a senior analyst with Cadmus, is a qualified PV inspector. Chris studied Environmental Science at Plattsburgh State University and is a licensed electrician with over 10 years of experience in the field. He has performed PV system field tasks such as: site survey, shade analysis and reporting, roof mounted array installation, ground mounted array installation, installation of electrical equipment and conductors, project oversite, commissioning and quality control.
