November 2020 - Virtual Audits in a COVID World

Wednesday, November 4th at 4:30PM - Zoom Meeting

The Boston area is no stranger to virtual audits with two early area startups leading the way in remote energy auditing efforts nearly a decade ago.  Since March of 2020 utilities and their customers have been faced with the challenge of continuing their energy efficiency efforts with either limited or no onsite visits due to COVID-19.  This month’s meeting will feature how one local utility is leveraging their customer data and technical services team to assist customers identify energy savings opportunities remotely.  We will also hear from one national service provider on their successful efforts to deploy similar services with multiple utilities throughout the country with small and medium business customers.

Andrea Moshier, CEM from National Grid recently presented for Energy Star on National Grid’s efforts to continue to provide energy assessments for customers when COVID-19 limited their ability to provide their normal onsite services.  Andrea will review how National Grid has leveraged 15-minute interval data with the support of technical assistance in identifying energy efficiency opportunities without the support of a traditional onsite energy audit.  National Grid plans to leverage the feedback from this effort to improve their program delivery and continue offering virtual assessments for interested customers.
